Painting like Paleolithic People

Students learned about paleolithic people. After a brief overview of cave art, some of the most famous caves were looked at a little more in depth, highlighting how difficult it must have been to be a cave artist. Following the "lecture" students then mixed their own paint using pigments from the earth-- yellow and red ochre-- exactly what the Paleolithic people painted with! Together we made a class collaborative painting and individually the students made both negative and positive prints of their hands.
